Liquid and mechanical pressure relief valves

Pressure relief valves (PRV) are safety devices which protect biogas network from excess overpressure and/ or underpressure. They are mostly mounted at places, where biogas production occurs and near to gasholders.

LIQUID PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES (LIQUID PRV)

Liquid pressure relief valves operate under the liquid closing principle. After exceeding allowable pressure biogas is relieved through outlet chimney. Liquid pressure relief valve also functions as a flame arrester.

EXTERNAL LIQUID PRV

In external liquid PRVs glycol solution is used as closing liquid. Quantity of liquid can be inspected through measuring pipe mounted in main device body.

Thanks to proper internal design and construction liquid is not discharged from device to atmosphere.
Whole device is made of stainless steel.

External PRV type

Body / blow-out diameter

BC/ZN-400/150 DN 400 / DN 150
BC/ZN-500/150 DN 500 / DN 150
BC/ZN-550/200 DN 550 / DN 200

INTERNAL LIQUID PRV

In internal liquid PRVs just water is used as closing liquid. In normal operating conditions of biogas network neither quantity nor quality of water should be controlled, as the level of liquid is self regulated.
Closing liquid can be partially discharged from the device to the atmosphere when the device works.

Whole device is made of stainless steel.

Internal PRV type

Body / blow-out diameter

BC/WN-400-1 DN 400
BC/WN-400-2 DN 400
BC/WN-500-1 DN 500
BC/WN-500-2 >DN 500

MECHANICAL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES

Mechanical PRV operate under the principal of seal with weight-loaded element. As soon as set pressure is reached biogas is released by lifting or lowering the weight-loaded element. Device is equipped with flame arrester mounted on blow out fitting.
